Student Veterinary Nurse

Hi, I'm Millie - a Student Veterinary Nurse with a love for just about every animal to walk (or crawl) the earth. I work and study full time, but somehow still manage to squeeze in dance classes, sing my heart out to every single song, and chat for hours on end (seriously, try stopping me). My sidekick is Ollie, a purebred Boxer I rescued at age four. I might've missed his early years, but we found each other when we needed it most. He'd probably trade me for a chicken nugget, but he's my entire heart and soul. Being able to care for animals and support their owners is something I’ve always wanted to do. I treat every animal as if they were my own - with kindness, patience, and genuine care. It’s a privilege to be part of their journey and to make a difference in the lives of both pets and people. I cannot explain how grateful and proud I feel every day to be working in my dream job that I've craved for as long as I can remember.

I joined Medivet Tiptree vets back in 2003 purely as a Saturday receptionist after having several years away from work bringing up my 3 children. I was working a 3.75 hour shift but within a year I found myself working 5 shifts a week and thoroughly enjoying my role. Here I am 22 years later (although I have now tapered down to 3 shifts per week), still enjoying my job, no two days are ever the same. I did have a beautiful Golden retriever called Shadow but he passed over the rainbow bridge five years ago and is still greatly missed, this gorgeous breed still remains my favourite. I now have a beautiful 16 year old Cat called Lady, who I ''acquired' when moving into my current home almost nine years ago.

I have worked at Medivet Tiptree since September 2020. My current role is a part-time receptionist and I truly enjoy working here and meeting our clients and their lovely pets. Our practice is a busy and exciting place to work where not a single day is the same. I am a married mum of two gorgeous daughters and a cat mum to two naughty cats - Louis (Prince) & Bear (Grylls).

We saw a new vet called Alex, who was excellent. He listened carefully to my dog’s symptoms, was confident in his approach, and gave clear, helpful advice along with effective treatment. It was reassuring to feel my dog was in capable hands — a really positive experience......and as it turned out he got it right.

Consult felt rushed and charge seems to have increased. 400% mark up on drugs compared to online costs which is criminal

My appointment was great, the vet was lovely and I was very happy with her care and knowledge.
But while I was waiting in the reception area I was very impressed as A vet had called in sick so they didn’t have any appointments but the receptionist still did everything she could to help those who called and was very helpful to an elderly man who came in worried about his cat.

We are finding, as many others do, that the charges are very steep. Medivet is a large corporate company. We regret the passing of smaller independent practices.
While our favourite vets are still employed we will stick with our practice.
