Meet our Partner, Robert Wienesen
I qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2012 from Utrecht University in the Netherlands and moved to England in 2012. I have now completed my certificate in Exotic Animal Practice, and enjoy applying all my new knowledge to cases in practice. I’ve worked for Medivet since 2014, and have enjoyed seeing this little branch grow into a full-fledged clinic, seeing both the more traditional and exotic pets. At home I have a dog called Baxter and a turtle called Sebastian. In my free time I enjoy working with model trains, and love spending time with my daughter.

My experience was around in the middle overal. Reception felt friendly but at the same time a bit tense in a certain occasions. The vet was professional and answered my questions. There are two things i would like to mention. 1) was quoted a price over the phone, but i was charged another one, without any explanation when i asked. 2) After looking back when my guinea pig had an issue i have doubts on whether the tests we run and medication administrered was actually neccessary??? After consulting with another vet the issue was resolved at a cost of 50£, whereas in medivet after 5 vet visits and about 500£ the vest stated we dont know whats going on unless we take a sample with local anesthesia (another 500£!). I am a bit skeptical whether the approach was needed or was aiming to increase their profit...If thats the case its very unethetical on their behalf..

I have found the vets to be incompetent and not very helpful. The staff are friendly but that does not overcome the poor treatments given. I put in a complaint over a month ago. These complaints are supposed to be dealt with within 2 weeks but I am still waiting.

My bunnies are so well looked after. The staff are all lovely, both professional and friendly. The vets are incredibly knowledgeable about bunny care, and have been actual lifesavers for Cinnabun. I cannot recommend Medivet enough!

Freddie was treated very well and he was happy we were on time it was Freddie's health check.Friendly staff. I always phone for my appointment and Freddie's medication never any problem.

The waiting area is small and challenging with other animals as there's no 'safe' area for nervous or reactive animals to waiting.

Our Exotic Pet Service
Robert our lead vet holds a GPCertExAP (general practitioner certificate Exotic Animal Practice) and is studying towards a CertAVP (advance practitioner status with the RCVS). We have a separate ward for small 'exotic' pets, including reptiles, birds, and fish of all types.
