Medivet New Cross

Be careful and upfront about any additional costs that may be added to your bill. There’s a growing concern around vet clinics taking advantage of customers, especially during the cost of living crisis. I’ve been forced to book an appointment just to get medication we regularly use for many years and that works for us. I was then charged four times more than the medication’s online price. Getting a prescription instead comes with an extra fee, but it still works out cheaper overall if you buy the medication online. That said, you need to be proactive and communicate this clearly with the vet, as they just add charges without warning. I told my vet that my budget was tight, yet I still wasn’t advised to get a prescription and buy the medication elsewhere. £45 for ear-drops that actually cost £10. I will be looking into raising a complaint about unfair vet charges as I just felt absolutely exploited by this company. It’s unregulated and cruel.

Never have I experienced such a universally kind and caring medical practice. It’s palpable to me how much the staff care about - even love - my boy. And he enjoys going to the vet so much that he’s borderline depressed when it’s time to leave. Only half joking when I say I wish I could be a patient as well 😅 Thank you to each of you at Medivet New Cross! My family is grateful for you 🐾♥️🐶

I have been a client at new cross Medivet for a short time, yet they have managed to mess up almost every time I go. The staff is borderline incompetent with terrible communication. They sent my cat home with a catheter still in his arm after his castration. which was incredibly dangerous, not to mention, medical negligence. We were not offered compensation for this. This week my cat fell ill and my partner took him in for a urine and blood test where he then payed up front as part of a package deal that was quoted by the vet. Over the next couple days we recieved multiple calls from Medivet staff requiring us to pay more over the phone. When I told them that I was on vacation and do not want to be disturbed they continued to call me to ask for money, despite my partner already paying the day before. The receptionist who spoke to me today was extremely dismissive toward my frustration. I am very disappointed at the service at Medivet new cross and I will be changing vets.

Wonderful experience with this practice for annual jabs for my two dogs. I highly recommended them as they are able to see the two dogs in one appointment which is much easier all round. I had a really lovely vet and she was very helpful with all my questions. 10 out of 10 service

I just want to say thank you to the entire team for their ongoing support, especially recently during what has been a stressful time with our dog Pasha, who is needing multiple surgeries. Every member of the staff has been kind and professional, and we’re especially grateful to vets David and Sara, as well as Claire at the front desk. Pasha is a very fearful rescue and can be a challenge to manage, so we’re incredibly appreciative of the patience, care, and understanding the team have shown him throughout. I have always found the availability and flexibility with appointments great at this practice, and the front desk team always take time to follow-up and answer questions over email - not to mention the team helping us write to the insurance company to support our claim dispute, despite their incredibly busy and demanding days. Thank you again.

I have been a customer of Medivet New Cross for 7 years, biut today I have never encountered such rude customer service. I called to get my cat's medical history. As I tried to explain why I was leaving (due to the poor service of the Medivet branch near my new home, who didn't answer the phone after 30 mins of waiting) I was interrupted by the receptionist 3 times "NAME"..."SURNAME"...she even interrupted me to say "SPELL IT" as I was spelling it. At the end of the call I explained to her that she had been incredibly rude was just told “Thank you Bye” 7 years I’ve been with Medivet New Cross, but if this is the way they treat loyal customers who happen to be leaving, imagine how they will treat your pet. The receptionist I spoke to should be ashamed. What an awful way to behave.
