Branch Partner

My name is Ida and I am the branch partner of Medivet Chester le street, I have been with Medivet for a long time and originally work in Liverpool before upgrading to the north east. I have a special interest in internal medicine, particularly in dogs, and I’m passionate about providing the best possible care for both pets and their owners. Building strong relationships with my clients is just as important to me as treating their pets, and I strive to offer compassionate, thorough care in every case. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog, Atticus, who came to us all the way from Hungary. In my free time, you’ll often find me reading or enjoying quiet moments with my family

I graduated as a vet in 2008 in Bucharest, Romania. Same year I travelled to UK for an Official Veterinarian course and started working in meat safety and public health since April 2009. Worked in different parts of the UK. Later on, I decided to change paths and work in a clinical practice, I joined Cestria in 2017 and been with them since. At home I have a lovely son that keeps me busy and I’m a proud owner of a beautiful white cat. I enjoy trips in nature and anywhere warm and with blue skies. I have an interest in Ophthalmology and doing my best to learn more in this area, currently studying for my certificate.

I graduated from the Veterinary School Faculty, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2017. I started my veterinary career working in the livestock sector as a public veterinary officer in Greece. After working there for 8 months I realized that this job did not fit me. For this reason, I started working in a first opinion veterinary practice, where I dealt with a great variety of first and second opinion cases. Then I decided to start a master’s degree program in small animal internal medicine in order to expand my knowledge base and work experience. After finishing my master’s degree, I moved in the UK and I joined Medivet Chester-le-street. I’m a cat person and a proud mum of two male cats. My favourite field of veterinary medicine is feline medicine (of course)! In my free time I enjoy a cuppa, cooking, exercising and playing the accordion!

Patient Care Assistant

Hi I’m Heather, I’ve been here since I left school in 2021. I jumped right in with no proper plan but to go ahead with the veterinary care assistant course. It came with its challenges but it was such a good course in the end. With the love and care I have towards all pets I am glad I now have a position as a patient care assistant and receptionist, greeting your furry pets at the door and seeing the behind the scenes of a brilliant and supportive team of veterinary staff! I have two cats called Dodger and Flump and a crazy spaniel called Jess.

Student Veterinary Nurse

Hi I’m Amanda one of the student nurses. I never knew I was supposed to do this job, but now I can’t think of anything else I’d rather do, I love it. I’ve achieved a lot in my life but I regard this as my calling. I can’t say it has been easy, without the amazing support of my husband and family plus my clinical coach Jessica RVN I don’t think I would be in the position I am, which is awaiting the results of my practical exam, so fingers crossed I will become a Registered Veterinary Nurse very soon! I love handing back animals to their owners and seeing them so happy, this makes me happy, especially when they are very unwell and know I have had a hand in making them better.

I am currently doing a further qualification in Feline Nursing and I'm really keen to make the practice more cat friendly. I've got a cat called Purdy and two Rottweilers, Grizzly and Gina.

I joined the Chester-le-Street practice in November 2020 as a CCA, after taking early retirement from teaching for 30 years. My true love has always been animals, especially dogs. So it wasn't a surprise when I ended up working at the vets. I am a girl who loves Border Collies. I only have little Mist now, who has a beautiful soul and keeps me busy. In my spare time, I love reading and shopping (A lot!)

As always very professional and friendly staff throughout the practice which is clean & informative without providing too much information. Appointment was on time. What made it extra special was the vets remembering my previous dog who I'd lost to cancel 10months prior.

Very friendly, knowledgeable and reassuring. Prices are reasonable . I have used them on many occasions with various small animals as well as my German shepherd's. Parking is a little difficult at times due to the location.

Love the staff and all show a great understanding of any feedback given. Cannot say the same for Medivet pricing policies, appears to be very much a maximising of profit strategy.

I am not confident in medi vets anymore this is twice they have misdiagnosed my pets for something they didn't have wrong with them and paid for highly for theur advice /opinion. Got 2nd opinion from another vet and what medivet adviced me was incorrect. Looking for a more trusted vet now!
